In 1963, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby introduced the world to not only one but two of the most popular Super-power Teams, the Avengers and the X-men. For more than forth eight years, the two teams have mostly lived in harmony through many battles, wars, challenges as they do their best to protect Earth from great threats. One of the most powerful forces ever to challenge the heroes was the Dark Phoenix. A force that searches the universe for a host to attach to so that it may lays devastation to its environment. The last time the Phoenix attacked the Earth it was defeated only by the host, Jean Grey, killing herself. But this did not destroy the Phoenix, and it has found a new host on Earth to begin the process once again.
This time though, the two teams are pitted against each other as one seeks to destroy the Phoenix force while the other aims to protect the host that will carry the force.
