As most have no doubt noticed, demand for Amazing Spider-Man #583 has been staggering thanks to President-Elect Barack Obama’s appearance on its covers, teaming up with the Web-slinger in the issue’sSpidey Meets the President bonus story and the array of press coverage the issue has received.

Unsurprisingly, the first printing, its original Obama variant cover by Phil Jiminez and second printing – featuring a recolored version of that variant – have now all sold out at the Distributors. To help keep up with the demand, Marvel has now announced it’s heading back to press again to offer the Amazing Spider-Man #583 Obama Third Printing Variant .
Expected to ship on January 28, this new variant features a version of the original Obama variant cover with an American flag background and new dialogue from Spidey.

The previously mentioned Spidey Meets the President story is written by Zeb Wells and drawn by Todd Nauck & Frank D’Armata and takes place in Washington, D.C. on Inauguration Day, as one of Spider-Man’s oldest foes attempts to thwart the swearing in ceremony of the 44th President of the United States.

“When we heard that President-Elect Obama is a collector of Spider-Man comics, we knew that these two historic figures had to meet in our comics’ Marvel Universe,” said Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada. “Historic moments such as this one can be reflected in our comics because the Marvel Universe is set in the real world. A Spider-Man fan moving into the Oval Office is an event that must be commemorated in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man.”

The 40-page, full-color Amazing Spider-Man #583 Obama Third Printing Variant should be sought-after vigorously by any Obama supporters that have yet to get their hands on a copy as well as regular followers of the series.

Place your orders for this third printing variant now, as it can be expected to sell out just as quickly as the previous releases.
